What Is Made-to-Order?
Made-to-order begins with an existing design.

You don’t necessarily need to arrive with a completed design.
Sometimes the starting point is simply : “I know how I want to feel, but I don’t know exactly what I want to wear.” That’s enough to begin.
2. Design & Fabric
Next comes the creative development.
The fabric has a significant influence on how a garment looks, moves and feels.
Depending on the design, we may work with fabrics such as lace, Adire, Aṣọ̀-Òkè, silk, satin or other textiles appropriate to the garment and occasion.

3. Measurements
Accurate measurements are an essential part of creating a garment specifically for its wearer.
These measurements help us develop the proportions and fit of your outfit rather than relying solely on standard sizing.

This is where the design begins to become a garment.
Cutting, construction, shaping, finishing and detailing all contribute to the final result.

Is Bespoke More Expensive Than Made-to-Order?
Generally, bespoke garments command a higher price because of the individual design process and additional work involved in creating something specifically for one client.

Can I Bring My Own Fabric for a Bespoke Outfit?
For some bespoke commissions, yes.
This is particularly relevant for clients who have been given Aso Ebi or already own a fabric they would like transformed into something special.
However, not every fabric will work for every design.
The weight, structure, drape, quantity and pattern of the textile can influence what is achievable, so it’s best to discuss your fabric during your consultation before settling on the final design.
Can a Made-to-Order Design Be Changed?
This depends on the particular design and the options offered.
Made-to-order should not be confused with bespoke.
If you want significant changes to the silhouette, construction or overall design, a bespoke consultation may be more appropriate.

Is Bespoke the Same as Custom-Made?

Do I Need to Know Exactly What I Want Before a Bespoke Consultation?
No.
Inspiration photographs and ideas can be useful, but part of the process is developing a direction that works for you.

Can I Order Bespoke for an African Wedding?
Absolutely.
Bespoke can be particularly useful for Aso Ebi, traditional weddings and other celebrations where you want an individual design or have been given a specific fabric.

Is Made-to-Order Made to My Measurements?
Not necessarily.
Made-to-order means the garment is produced after you place your order. It does not automatically mean the pattern is created specifically from your individual measurements.
